Sydney Elmore Stephens, 74, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014. She was the daughter of the late James Levis and Elva Clark Elmore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Stephens, Sr.

She is survived by her sons, Charles David Stephens, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Roanoke Rapids and John Mark Stephens of Raleigh, NC; one brother, James ''Jack'' Elmore, Jr. and wife Rachel of Lawrenceville, GA; one sister, Billie Kinard and husband Frank of Easley, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Chapel Services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC officiated by Rev. Randy Martin and Rev. Michael Kinard. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Anderson, SC officiated by Rev. Michael Kinard.

The family will receive family and friends at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014.
